We were all pretty lost about what is AT-SPI and ATK and Bill Haneman gave us a very important and descriptive introduction.
AT-SPI stands for Assistive Technology Service Provider Interface.
It is a (cross-process) CORBA based api that let different applications communicate to let Assistive Technology work for the users.
KDE doesn't use CORBA because it is too complex (Daniel Molkentin).
